September 6th- Spurwink Farm Ride/Drive and Derby Clinic

The Spurwink Farm Recreational Drive is coming up on September 6th. See the above entry form and prize list.

Spurwink Farm is a beautiful farm nestled right by the Ocean in Cape Elizabeth, Maine. You will travel through apple orchards, forests, rolling fields, and beach side paths. This is one of two events the Maine Driving Club will be hosting at Spurwink this year, the other being October 18th. We will have 8 stalls available for those traveling from a further distance, for both events ($40 per night and by reservation). Please email anna.bigelow.94@gmail.com or mainedrivingclub@gmail.com and Anna will respond to you there with any questions about stabling or about either event.

Although the above registration form is for the September 6th event, we will also accept entries for the October 18th date. Both events will have trails. The current plan is to host a recreational drive/ride and a derby clinic on September 6th. On October 18th we will have a fun cones course and a trail ride/drive. Riders will be welcome to go on the trails for both events.

Please get your entries in soon, because the September Spurwink Trail Drive typically gets 30-40 entries and we do have a limit. We hope you will join us - Spurwink Farm autumn drives are events not to be missed.

Skyline Farm Sleigh Day 2025

Several members attended the annual Sleigh Day @ Skyline Farm on February 8th, 2025. The weather was beautiful and the conditions were perfect.

Membership in the Maine Driving Club is open to anyone with an interest in carriage driving. We welcome beginners to advanced drivers as well as those who simply might like to come along for a ride.

A Glimpse into the Maine Driving Club

The mission of the Maine Driving Club is to encourage and promote the sport of equine driving. We offer training, education, and information to our members in the various phases of pleasure and competitive driving, as well as pleasure horse ownership. We provide a forum for people interested in the sport of driving in the State of Maine to come together for social activities and to share ideas and information.

The MDC welcomes all who have an interest in carriages or driving, regardless of age, skill level or the type of driving you do. Beginner drivers and those who would just like to "ride along" are also encouraged to join us!
